The Royal University for Women (RUW) in the Kingdom of Bahrain is seeking the following positions for its 2014-2015 & 2015-16 academic year.

Student Affairs
  • Dean Student Affairs
    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
    • Minimum of 10 years professional Student Affairs related experience is required.
    • Experience in guidance, counseling (coaching, training, mentoring) and public relations.
    • Preferably with Working experience in the Gulf region.
    • Knowledge / Awareness regarding culture of Gulf people is preferred.
    • With PhD, preferably in Humanities and / or its related fields (Psychology, Education, Nursing, and Sociology)..
    DESIRED CRITERIA:
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
    • With the ability to supervise, manage and lead the Student Affairs staff.
    • With excellent communication skill both verbal and in writing.
    • A good listener and a good decision maker.
    • With excellent problem-solving skill.
    • Must be an excellent motivational leader.
    • Must have an excellent organizational skill.

College of Art & Design
  • Assistant Professor/ Architectural Engineering

    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

    • PhD Degree in Architecture, or related fields, with special emphasis technical aspects of architecture
    • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experince in the field
    • Interdisciplinary focus that facilitates research and teaching

    DESIRED CRITERIA:

    • Experience in teaching: various technical subjects related to architecture, as Architectural systems, building material, building construction, building systems, structures, etc.
    • Proficiency in a range of CAD Software applications, especially Auto CAD, Sketch-up, Photoshop, and other drafting software, is highly recommended.
    • Preferably with a record of scholarly and / or professional / creative work.
    • Should be able to teach at Undergraduate and Graduate levels.
    • Relevant research experience and publications will be an added field.
    • The candidate should have proficiency in both Arabic and English.
    • Should be able to teach at Undergraduate and Graduate levels.

  • Assistant Professor/ Architecture

  • Assistant Professor/ Graphic Design

    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

    • PhD Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia design or related fields
    • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experince in the similar field

    DESIRED CRITERIA:

    • Proficiency in a range of applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustartor, Photoshop, Flash, InDesign ), and other Applicable Software.
    • Secondary teaching knowledge in Photography, Web Design, Motion Graphics or 3D Animation.
    • Interdisciplinary focus that facilitates research and teaching
    • Expertise to teach various aspects realted to the field as brandging and logo design, Typography, Illustartion, Campaign Design, and others.
    • Should be able to teach at Undergraduate and Graduate levels.
    • Relevant research experience and publications will be an added field.
    • Excellent Interpersonal, Organizational and Communication skills.
    • The candidate should have proficiency in both Arabic and English.

      • Experience as head of department or management position.
      • Experience in academic admission operations for undergraduate / postgraduate students and HEC admission policies and/or procedures.
      • Understanding of innovative technology in recruitment and admission processes including knowledge of students information systems.
      • Experience in marketing and recruitment of new students
      • Exemplary public speaking, business writing, interpersonal and organizational skills.
      • Understanding of scholarships and other financial aid for the use of achieving enrollment goals.
      • Proven record with diverse population
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
