Administration Department
  • Senior Secretary
    Position Description : Reporting to the Director of Administration, this is a full-time administrative role providing support for the everyday functions of this office. The applicant must be able to work independently, manage numerous and diverse tasks with confidentiality and self-motivation while serving as the primary office contact person.
    Candidate Preferred to have :
    Essential Criteria
    • Bachelors Degree
    • Minimum three years experience in a secretarial post
    • Proficient in English
    • Demonstrated business communication skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
    • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy office environment
    • Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision

Centre For General Studies
  • Secretary

    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
    • Minimum of ten years professional Student Affairs related experience are required.
    • Experience in guidance, counseling (coaching, training, mentoring) and public relations.
    • Working experience in the Gulf region is preferable.
    • Aware of Gulf people cultures is preferable.
    • PhD, preferably in Humanities and / or its related fields (Psychology, Education, Nursing, and sociology).
    DESIRED CRITERIA:
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills and the capacity to supervise and lead a student affairs staff.
    • Able to be a good listener and verbal communicator.
    • Problem-solving skills are also extremely important.
    • Able to manage the staff of the student affairs department; as such he/she must be a strong, motivational leader.
    • Strong organizational skills are essential.
Vacancy Executive Secretary
  • Secretary to the President
    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
    • Bachelor Degree
    • 5 to 7 years experience in a secretarial / office adminsitration post
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
    • Proficiency in English and Arabic.
    DESIRED CRITERIA:
    • Excellent time management skills

Faculty of Art & Design
  • Dean Faculty of Art & Design

    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

    • At least 3+ years of experience in academic administration or any related setting to become familiar with academic programmes, policies and regulations necessary to hold authority over the activities of an educational institution.
    • Having a proven track record as a leader, teacher and public servant in a variety of settings is critical.
    • PhD in Art & Design or any specialisation (Fashion, Interior or Graphic)
    • Should have five years of university-level teaching experience after PhD; as will be required to teach courses at Undergraduate and Masters' Level.
    • Minimum Associate Professor from a reputed University
    • The preferred candidate should have work experience that demonstrates progressive levels of responsibility.

    DESIRED CRITERIA:

    • Ability of time management.
    • Good Interpersonal skills.
    • Ability of assessment.
    • Good skills in verbal and written communication, organization, budget preparation, developing and implementing goals, managing resources, strategic planning and interdisciplinary scholarly skills.
  • Assistant/ Associate Professor for Interior Design

    Specialization: (Architecture or Interior Design)

    Position Begins: September 1, 2013

    Position Description
    The successful candidate will teach all levels of interior design studio and core courses, and fully participate in student advising, curriculum development committee work, departmental and University service.

    The qualified candidate will have a full understanding of interior space, History of Interior, interior materials, lighting, acoustics, Mechanical system, construction details, and the ability of using CAD Programme and 3D Max. teaching experience at Masters Level will be an added advantage

    Maintain disciplinary currency via active engagement in research, scholarship and creative activity.

    Qualifications

  • Assistant/ Associate Professor for Graphic Design

    Position Begins: September 1, 2013

    Position Description
    The successful candidate will be conceptual both in theory and practice at all levels within our BA Programme in Graphic Design with a concentration in 3D and Computer Graphics. Teaching experience at Masters Level will be an added advantage. The candidate should be ready to serve on committees as part of ongoing departmental and University service. Maintain disciplinary currency via active engagement in research, scholarship and creative activity.

    Qualifications
    The successful candidate will have a PhD in Graphic Design –Computer Graphics or digital graphics, Multimedia or related field with a minimum of two years teaching experience in a University setting required.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Expertise to teach all aspects of Computer Graphics and Photography. Proficiency in a range of applications including Flash, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and other applicable software. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

    Secondary teaching knowledge in photography, web design, motion graphics, or 2D animation
  • Assistant/ Associate Professor for Fine Arts

    Specialization: (Drawing & Painting)

    Position Begins: September 1, 2013

    Position Description
    The successful candidate will teach all levels of Fine Arts studio and core courses, and fully participate in student advising, curriculum development committee work, departmental and University service.

    The qualified candidate will have a full understanding of theory and practical aspects of Sketching, Drawing Painting, Media experimentation. Further knowledge of Contemporary issues in Art, History and theory of Art, Semiotics and Philosophy of Art will be desirable. The candidate should be able to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.

    Maintain disciplinary currency via active engagement in research, scholarship and creative activity.

    Position Description
    The successful candidate will be conceptual both in theory and practice at all levels within our BA Programme in Fashion Design with a concentration in patternmaking and organization of exhibitions and shows. Teaching experience at Masters Level will be an added advantage. The candidate should be ready to serve on committees as part of ongoing departmental and University service.   • Associate Professor [Interior Design]
    Ph.D. holder, a minimum of 6 years teaching experience at the University level, should have full understanding of Design concepts, interior space, History of Interior, interior materials, lighting, acoustics, Mechanical system and construction details. The candidate should have an expertise in Design fundamentals, Innovation in design, sustainable design, Architectural Design or Interior Design and should be able to teach both at under graduate and post graduate level. Relevant research experience and publications will be an added qualification. Computer skills, using CAD & 3 D Max software are preferred.

  • Assistant Professor [Graphic Design]

  • Assistant Professor [Design Management]
    Ph.D. holder, a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the University level, in Design Management or Management with Design background. The candidate should be conceptual in theory and practice at undergraduate and Post Graduate levels in design management with emphasis on Design creativity, Innovation in design, Design theory, and sustainable practices in Design. The candidate can have any relevant Design specialisation (graphic, Interior or fashion) with management degree and its application in various projects. Relevant research experience and publications will be an added qualification.
  • Assistant Professor [Fine Arts]
    Ph.D. holder, a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the University level, in Fine Arts, Drawing, Painting or Media Experimentation. The candidate should be conceptual in theory and practice at undergraduate and Post Graduate levels in design concepts with emphasis on creativity, Innovation in drawing, painting, History and Philosophy of Art, Contemporary Art and Artistic Experimentation. Relevant research experience and publications will be an added qualification. The candidate should have proficiency in both Arabic and English.
