RUW

College of Law

The major of Law provides a programme that is globally oriented, addresses the needs of the local market, and also leads to international careers.

Welcome note from the Dean of the College of Law

The RUW College of Law achieved many goals during the last few years, and it is now consolidated as a unique Law programme in Bahrain. The RUW Law programme has achieved the highest quality standard in Bahrain and received a Vote of Confidence from the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA). It is mapped against the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

At RUW College of Law, our goal is to provide our students with the best legal education to prepare them for their future careers. We combine our traditional core training with a skills-based training programme that makes us one of the top skills training schools in the country.

Our differences and our diversity are a source of strength that we cherish. It makes this an exciting and productive community to study, teach, write, debate, explore, question, innovate, litigate, advocate, and pursue the highest ideals of law and justice.

The Law programme provides students with comprehensive legal knowledge at the undergraduate level. The programme covers Bahraini Laws and the primary international laws with a topical focus on commercial and business law and International Commercial Arbitration.

The international practical learning experience through the participation in various programs at curricular and extra-curricular levels, such as the annual Willem C. Vis Moot Court competition in commercial arbitration, has become a regular practice for our Law students. RUW College of Law has consolidated its experience hosting the MENA Pre-Moot competition in international commercial arbitration. RUW College of Law is categorized at the top of the 29 law schools globally in international commercial arbitration.

Our skills training program is the perfect accompaniment to a traditional core curriculum. Field trips, guest lectures, and increasing interaction with law firms and legal institutions, through the signature of several agreements with relevant bodies, continue to enrich the development of the Law students' advocacy skills and employability skills. High employment rates of the RUW Law graduates are a testimony of the fitness for purpose and readiness to work of our Alumnae.

The research output of the College of law academic staff is increasing year by year with publications in reputable international specialized journals, books, and participation in international conferences. Law students also get involved in research projects to foster a legal research culture in the College.

New and more exciting challenges are yet to come, and the whole academic body is fully committed to achieving the best results that our students deserve.

Best regards,

Dr. Raed Alnimer Ph. D, FHEA, ACIArb.
