Job opportunities
The Royal University for Women (RUW) in the Kingdom of Bahrain is seeking the following positions for its 2010 -2011 academic year starting from September 2010:
 

Quality Assurance Unit:
 
1.              Quality Assurance Officer: Essential Requirements: Bachelors Degree + Ability to analyse complex regulatory documents + Good writing and organisational skills + Ability to work under pressure + English Language Proficiency + Proficiency in using MS Office Suite.  Desirable Requirements: Arabic language proficiency + Previous work experience.

 
  • Vice-President (Academic): Ph.D. holder at the rank of Professor with five years relevant academic and administration experience.
 
  • Faculty of Art and Design:
 
1.            Full-time faculty member in Interior Design: Ph.D. holder, a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the university level, should have full understanding of interior space, history of Interior, interior materials, lighting, acoustics, mechanical system and construction details. The candidate should have an expertise in Architectural Design or Interior Design with research and training experience. Computer skills, using CAD & 3 D Max software are preferred.

2.             Full-time faculty member in Graphic Design: Ph.D. holder, a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the university level, in Computer Graphics or digital graphics, and in related fields like Animation and photography. The candidate should be conceptual both in theory and practice at undergraduate and post graduate levels in Graphic Design with a concentration in 3D and Computer Graphics. Proficiency in a range of applications including Flash, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and other applicable software is preferred. Secondary teaching knowledge in photography, web design, motion graphics, or 2D animation is preferred.

3.            Studio Support Technician: High School Diploma holder with a minimum of 2 years experience of working in an institution with good comprehension of art processes and studio maintenance. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in assisting students and instructors. Supervises the studio to ensure safe practices in art making and safe handling and storage of materials, should be able to supervise, maintain and repair equipment, coordinate the ordering of materials and organize exhibitions of artwork.
4.            Carpenter: High School Diploma holder, with a minimum of 2 years experience in carpentry. Should be able to assemble and repair the furniture, teaching equipments. Should be able to assist the students and faculty in model making, wood work.
 
 
  • Faculty of Business and Financial Sciences:
1.      Dean: Ph.D. holder at the rank of Associate Professor (minimum) in a related area, a minimum of 4 years academic and administrative experience.
 
2.      Full-time faculty member in Accounting/Finance: Ph.D. in Accounting or a related area (Masters in Accounting or MBA with accounting emphasis or CPA strongly preferred), a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level. The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of accounting courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach any of the following areas would receive preference: finance/banking, Islamic finance, introductory math/stat.
 
3.      Full-time faculty member in Business/HRM: Ph.D. in Business or a related area (along with MBA strongly preferred), a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level, The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of business-related courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach any of the following areas would receive preference: introductory math/stat, human resource management, international business, business law, etc.
 
4.      Full-time faculty member in Banking/Finance: Ph.D. in Economics, Finance or a related area with specialization in Banking or a related area, a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level, The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of banking/finance courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach any of the following areas would receive preference: finance/banking, Islamic finance, introductory math/stat.
 
5.      Full-time faculty member in Business/International Business/Marketing: Ph.D. in Business or a related area (along with MBA strongly preferred), a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level, The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of business-related courses both at the introductory and upper level. Ability to teach any of the following areas would receive preference: introductory math/stat, operations management, human resource management, international business, business law, business ethics, etc.
 
 
  • Faculty of Information Technology:
1.      Full-time faculty member in a Computer Science related field: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related area (along with Information Technology/Systems qualifications strongly preferred), a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a university level, The candidate should be able to cover a broad range of computer-related courses both at the introductory and upper level.
 
2.      Lab Instructor: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, capable of supervising students’ laboratory sessions and assisting them in learning computer languages. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in assisting students and faculty members.
 
 
  • Center of General Studies:
1.    Full-time faculty member for CGS: Masters degree holder with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience at university level. Area of specialization TESOL / TESL / TEFL. Must be able to teach General and Academic English.
 
2.     Full-time faculty member for CGS: PhD degree holder with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at university level in Arabic Language and History of Bahrain. Area of specialization Arabic Language and/or History. Must be able to teach Arabic Language and Literature and History of Bahrain to Arabic-speaking and non Arabic-speaking students.
Candidates in both categories must be:
·        highly proficient in English
·        computer-literate with working knowledge of MS Office Suite
 
 
  • Center of Libraries and Information Services:
1.      Director of Libraries and Information Services: a minimum of a Master of Library Science degree, experience in managing a comprehensive university library, the delivery of online education and training programmes, and the management of information resources, site licenses and copyrighted materials. The candidate should be highly proficient in English and ability to work in Arabic is desirable.
 
2.      Librarian: a minimum of Bachelor of Library & Information Science degree, at least 3 years work experience, can support library functions in all areas (Cataloguing and processing, Reference & circulation, Selection and acquisitions, Supervision of Library Assistant, Administrative duties). The candidate should be highly proficient in English and ability to work in Arabic is desirable.
 
 
  • Information and Communications Technology:
1.      ICT Manager: a minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS), minimum 5 years' related experience at manager level. The candidate should be able to direct IT systems operations, technical support, systems analysis and programming. Ability to adopt strategic plan, budgeting and support systems.
 
 
  • Maintenance:
1.      Maintenance Engineer: Bachelor degree in Civil/Architecture Engineering, a minimum of 5 years experience in a related field. The candidate should be able to manage the university campus maintenance processes, manage and supervise the maintenance staff, perform site inspections and tests, and supervise maintenance contracts.
 
 
  • Marketing and Public Relations:
1.      Public Relations Manager: a minimum of a Bachelor degree in marketing/Public Relations, at least 5 years experience preferably in a university environment. The candidate must be able to work in both Arabic and English, able to create and deliver marketing and public relations strategies, plans and budgets, and maintain a favorable media relations, community relations, and internal communications.
