Research Council aims to be an interdisciplinary research unit, focusing on women’s issues including leadership, equality and representation.
Role of Research Council
Conduct research on Women Studies (As per Mission and Vision)
Organise conferences, seminars, workshops, lectures on issues related to women
Liaise with other universities, organisations and with other departments of the University for Effective Collaboration on scholarly research on women issues
Document and preserve data about Women’s issues in the region for future reference
Build a database with profiles of prominent contemporary Bahraini women
Sharing knowledge through RUW newsletter and website
Research Council Strategic Plan
The RUW Scientific Research Council (As of AY 2017/18 "Research Centre" unit title has been changed to "RUW Scientific Research Council" ) was approved in AY 2012-2013 as part of the Royal University for Women’s organizational development, to be implemented according to the University’s Strategic Plan. RUW practices a multidisciplinary approach in its commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service. The Scientific Research Council would enhance and provide additional support for RUW’s continued multidisciplinary development. In recognition that increased research production is one of the Higher Education Council’s priorities, the RUW Scientific Research Council will be a faculty-driven initiative that provides research training and resources to enable faculty to increases the impact and prominence of scholarly research in the region and to contribute to international scholarship and assist those.
