The Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies Council (SRPG)
Research Council aims to be an interdisciplinary research unit, focusing on women’s issues including leadership, equality and representation.
The Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies Council (SRPG) at RUW is a cornerstone of the university's research ecosystem, providing strategic oversight and guidance for all research and postgraduate activities. Acting as an advisory body to the Senate, the SRPG ensures a unified and structured approach to research development and postgraduate studies, promoting excellence across all academic units and research centers.
The council plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of innovation and academic inquiry at RUW. It oversees the planning, implementation, and monitoring of research initiatives, ensuring that all activities align with the university's mission to advance knowledge and contribute to societal development. The SRPG guides the development of strategic research priorities, enabling the university to focus its efforts on areas with the potential for high impact and relevance at the local, regional, and international levels.
In addition to its focus on research, the SRPG ensures the quality and consistency of postgraduate programs. It provides oversight of policies and procedures related to postgraduate education, including thesis supervision, VIVA committee structures, and student progression, while ensuring adherence to the directives of Bahrain's Higher Education Council (HEC) and international best practices. By maintaining rigorous academic and ethical standards, the council supports RUW’s commitment to cultivating advanced scholarship and producing high-quality research outputs.
