Dean's Welcome Message

Greetings!

Welcome to the College of Business and Law (CBL) at Royal University for Women. Thank you for choosing our college. CBL is one of the leading business schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are very excited about our school, which provides excellent business education and prepares our students for a successful career in industry, public services, or as entrepreneurs. As CBL’s Dean, I am proud and honoured to be part of this institution and I look forward to connecting with our students in the semester ahead.

The women who are enrolled in our programmes come from diverse backgrounds and places, and they will receive exciting educational opportunities at our college. We offer a diverse portfolio of undergraduate degree programmes that prepare students for a successful career. Learning at CBL promotes four core competencies and skills that students will need in the future of work: knowledge and understanding, subject specific skills, critical thinking skills, as well as general and transferable skills.

Our faculty members are dedicated professionals who excel in providing engaging educational experiences to inspire our student’s curiosity and stimulate their learning. At CBL students receive the state-of-the-art knowledge and latest materials, as well as granting them with opportunities to apply their new knowledge in real-world applications. Students have the benefit of small class sizes, which gives them the convenience to know the faculty and closely collaborate with them on their business and research projects.

CBL aspires to become a regional centre for entrepreneurial education and research concerned with women and gender in organisations from and about Bahrain and the region. We offer space and resources to assist with idea generation, product/ service development and new venture creation. Our students participate regularly in Injaz Young Entrepreneurs and Hope Fund Entrepreneurship competitions. Over the years, our team won first place for the category “Best Company of the Year 2021” and “Most Popular Team” for its idea of giving back to earth and agriculture, to achieve its vision of making the environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain greener. CBL students have participated for many years in the Trade Quest Competition, which is organised annually by Bahrain Bourse. Throughout the past years, our students have always secured coveted places on the podium.

Our college’s strong industry linkages ensure rich learning experiences and provide further opportunities for experiential learning. CBL has Memoranda of Understanding with banks, companies, ministries, NGO’s and international organisations of eminence that will help students find a quality internship opportunity and provide them with real-life experience on the job. We collaborate closely with other higher education institutions internationally. Among our partners, we count West Virginia University, USA, Dar Al-Hekma University, KSA, and La Rochelle Business School, France. CBL offers study abroad opportunities as well as international education trips that will expose our students to amazing international experiences and support their learning in a truly global context.

CBL remains committed to its objective to further the cause of women’s empowerment and advancement through education. If you are interested in an excellent business education in a fine learning environment, you have found it. Welcome to all of you! Wishing you all a productive and a fulfilling academic year.

Warmest regards,
